sa-vour 3 day winelands experience
Day 1
- Guests meet in Cape Town at approximately 10am. We enjoy coffee and pastries and get to know one another whilst our fellow foodies arrive
- Then it’s off to the Winelands
- We stop off en route for a cheese and wine lunch then we head to our beautiful guesthouse
- The rest of the afternoon is yours …. you have time to do whatever takes your fancy
- Early evening we are taken to Overture Restaurant on the magnificent Hidden Valley Estate . Acclaimed Chef Bertus Basson will treat us to a demonstration of a menu that is traditionally South African but with a modernized twist
- Then we get to enjoy what he has prepared for us, along with a pairing of the spectacular Hidden Valley wines
Day 2
- It’s an early start today ….After tea, coffee and traditional South African rusks, guests are taken to the magnificent Jordan wine estate where they are treated to delicious pastries from The Bakery whilst overlooking the dam.
- Then it’s time to learn how to bake bread with acclaimed chef, George Jardin
- After all the kneading and rolling, guests will be ready to enjoy a well-deserved lunch on the terrace , accompanied by Jordan wines
- The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Guests can lie by the pool (weather permitting), shop in Stellenbosch, have a massage or quite simply just do nothing!
- Dinner is a cooked for us by a private chef, focusing on local, seasonal ingredients and is paired with some of the incredible regional wines
Day 3
- Today, guests can enjoy a lazy morning
- Those who are energetic can walk or cycle in the magnificent surrounds
- Late morning we head to the kitchen to learn some new cooking skills
- We will prepare a selection of South African based dishes that you can impress friends and family with when you head home
- Our efforts will be rewarded when we enjoy a shared last meal with our fellow foodies
- After one ultimate spoonful or forkful and a final glass of wine, it’s back to Cape Town
